DPCON12 in (rambling) words and (bad) pictures

I am utterly exhausted. Four events in four days is a busy schedule for anyone, throw in an impromptu guided walking tour of the best coffee and vodka bars in Chapel Street, a hell of a lot of wine and a three hour time difference and it leads to one very tired, very emotional Glow. And by that I do, obviously, mean terribly hungover.

I have enjoyed every minute; I loved the planning, the panels, the expo hall, the My Blog, My Story speakers, the prizes (yes, particularly the one I demanded from Woogsworld and Magneto Bold Too as penance), the last minute 'faaaaaaark this is really happening' feelings, the Mother Tongue speakers, the dancing... but most of all I loved meeting so many new people and adored catching up with my friends in the flesh and giving them squeezes, kisses and adoring looks when they weren't paying attention.

I am about to crash the way all good emotionally unstable people do after being part of such a massive event. I need a bex and a lie down, or, quite possibly, a straightjacket. I hope I can get it in black because white really isn't my colour, or lack of colour, or whatever. It's been bloody brilliant and I've been honored to be part of an amazing team of hard working women that made it happen.

Floggers, I'm in a panic! I blinked and all of a sudden it is March. MARCH!!!

I swear it was only a week ago that I was ringing in the new year with a game of Yahtzee, cos that's how I roll (the dice), and now it is March and I'm in a tizz.

March means it's only three months until Tricky is two and, more pressingly, less than a month to DPCON12! Squee!

Time to figure out what you want to get out of the conference, where you're staying, who you're roomie is and, of course, what you're wearing.

So. I'm gonna do some serious pimping of DPCON12 because it's almost here! In order to do said pimping, I gotta look the part, right:

We have been working our butts off (yet mine is still expanding) to bring you an awesome conference and it's looking absolutely brilliant so far!

I'm so excited to hear the speakers, especially those jumping up for My Blog, My Story - last year I bawled my eyes out so this year I am coming prepared with tissues (hidden in my feather boa, of course) so that I don't have to have snot up my sleeve again.Or perhaps pimps use silk handkerchiefs? I'll have to look in to this further.

Because I'm an attention whore a go-getter, I'll be jumping up on stage during dinner and hosting an open mic where you can get up and read out one of your best blog posts from the last year. There are less than a handful of tickets left so vamoose! You get a full access pass to the conference panels a choice of workshops, admission to the expo room (my domain!), the chill out room, morning and afternoon tea, lunch (nom nom I've seen the menu) and the fabulous dinner dance where there will be dinner and dancing (duh!) and you get to meet me.

DPCon2012

There are a few letters and numbers that can excite me greatly.

For one, the TV show Letters and Numbers (I want to have a giant love in with Richard, David, Lily and a giant dictionary).

But the other letters and numbers that make squeee are DPCon2012. Ohhhh yeah, baby, it's time to get excited because the Digital Parents Conference has just launched and I'll be there with bells on (bell company sponsor, anyone?).








This year, because over commitment is my forte, I'm actually part of the organizing team and it's my job to fill the expo hall with exhibitors. Ya-huh we get an expo hall!! How cool is that?! There is also a massive two-stream program and of course a Gala Dinner. I'm practically hyperventilating with excitement!

It's a great opportunity and I get to work along side the most amazing, talented women and we are all going to work our butts off to bring you a fantastic conference.

The website went live this morning so you can check it out now and even buy your early bird tickets. In an effort to exude professionalism my full name is on there. The lasts strands of anonymity have frayed and the veil is lifted... I'm not entirely sure, but I think I feel liberated. Or shit scared, I can't quite tell.
